British designer Nicholas Kirkwood that worked with Rodarte, Alberta Feretti, and Pollini has created strikingly beautiful and at the same time terrible (walking is meant) women shoes. During Rodarte fashion show, model Abbey Lee wearing Kirkwood new style shoes stumbled and fell.
The famous designer got upset over this incident and finally decided to reconsider the high heels matter in shoe fashion industry. In one his interviews Nicholas Kirkwood said, ‘I have to admit that to wear all that high-heeled and high-platform shoes is pretty risky for women. Can average women wear them safely even if professional models wearing high-heeled and high-platform shoes might fall!
I bear responsibility to some extent for what is going on as I am one of those designers who has set the trend to wear high-heeled and high-platform shoes. This spring women footwear should become more wearable. I am going to present new elegant and comfortable styles of women shoes’. Kirkwood also stressed that in his opinion shoes should be either high-heeled or low-heeled – no golden mean.
It staggers belief that one of the leading designers has stated that spike heels are rather impractical. Will he be supported by the others oracles on fashion industry? It is pretty doubtful whether the shoes that raise women more than 4.5 inches above the ground can irrevocably disappear.
Paris Hilton and Victoria Beckham will not tolerate such a trend! Women can and, most likely, should wear high-heeled and high-platform shoes. The only thing they have to do is to remember to be careful!
There are some tips how wear high-heeled shoes and feel comfortable. First of all, you should straighten up your shoulders – and your back will always be straight. The ideal case is when your can run a straight line from one of your ears to the corresponding shoulder, knee, hip, and ankle. Always try to hold your stomach muscles in. If you train yourself to walk with straight back, you will be able to wear high-heeled shoes as long as you need, without your feet being sore from all this walking.
